The Impressions is the debut album by the American soul music group of the same name. It produced no less than six chart hit singles, including their biggest hit, the Billboard top ten pop smash It's All Right, and the top 20 hit, Gypsy Woman. After the departure of original Impressions lead singer Jerry Butler to a successful solo career, the other original members, brothers Arthur and Richard Brooks also left. The remaining original members, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden and Fred Cash, chose not. True Colours. The Impressions. Time To Relaxe. Guitar Town Music. The Hottest Ever. Cherry Pie. Blue Jeans. heart of sky
This is a solid reissue of The Impressions' wonderful self titled album! The sound quality and vinyl pressing are both top notch, very well done in those aspects. My only real disappointment was when I discovered that the song "It's Alright" is not featured on this reissue, and is instead replaced with "At The County Fair" at the end of the album. This is a pretty big omission in my opinion and makes me wonder why it was removed, considering the importance of the song to the album and The Impressions catalogue. Otherwise this reissue is definitely worth having, a great reissue of a Curtis Mayfield classic!
